Formed in Dublin's late 1980's, Kíla are one of Ireland’s most innovative and exciting bands - rooted in tradition, yet inspired by a myriad of influences and ideas from all around the world.
Kíla fuse their own melodies, Irish (Gaeilge) lyrics, Irish folk instruments such as whistles, fiddles, Uilleann pipes and bodhrán with djembe, congas, drums, mandolins, brass and acoustic / electric / bass guitars.
"Whatever it is... this is it. Kíla are right there at the cusp of it... Somehow you get the feeling they lit the fuse for the big bang."
BONO
