Stockton’s Nightlife is about to change for the discerning Teessider who is reaching out for a more original agenda to their night out and we are delighted to announce that we have teamed up with FSS to present their hugely popular Funk Soul Social night at the Georgian Theatre as a new monthly party launching on August 19th.
After its inception onto the scene two years ago in Yarm, Leeds and Newcastle Funk Soul Social has attracted a cult following from likeminded music lovers across the North.
This event is the sophisticated alternative to the North East clubbing scene, and a must for funk and soul enthusiasts.
Expect to hear the very best white-sock soul anthems and jazz-funk classics that were heard on the playlists of the North’s most iconic former clubs, such as: MacMillans, Mandys, Bennetts, Buddys and the Kirk on a Saturday night.
Tracks will be played from: Jocelyn Brown, George Benson, Chaka Khan, Johnny Guitar Watson, Loose Ends, Shakatak, Cameo, Azymuth, Roy Ayers, D Train, Alexander O'Neal, Change, Zapp, Slave, Atlantic Starr, Maze, Spyro Gyra, Boz Scaggs,James Brown and many more.
The organisers (Funk Soul Social) are delighted to have teamed up with The Tees Music Alliance to present this event at the perfect venue which is situated in the heart of Stocktons new drinking and social hub. The event take place on Friday’s and Saturday’s throughout the year.
